And your advice is useless .. firstly, I doubt anybody would want to go all the way to Katunayake and take the plane to HRI and go where ? when you can drive down

Forget this .. the idea of CMB - HRI is to use the HRI airport, not for primarily pax traffic to show HRI has usage .. ..

I maybe wrong there though ..

A better option would be to use a larger plane, ATR or something like that, HRI-> CMB and Trinco, Palaly etc route .. though since SLAF has Ma 60s, they may come online soon .. just wait .

PS: the DHC 6 of Air taxi were wet leased .. so doesn't mean much for UL's expertise. If I were to charter / lease a DHC6 or something of that size, including the Let 410 or BN 2T, the engineers for such expertise galore ..and come cheap ..

That's true anyways i think Helitours is operating a thrice weekly flight from RML to HRI using a Y-12 or a MA-60......i heard that all their flights have been full to date

Notsure about EY's loads but there are so many other airlines are codesharing with Etihad Airways on Abu Dhabi - Colombo route. Quite big list of those codesharing airlines that includes Air Seychelles, CSA Czech Airlines, Air Berlin, SriLankan Airlines, American Airlines and additionally new codeshare partner Kenya Airways too. http://airlineroute.net/2013/06/28/k...deshare-jun13/

I was thinking the same thing. They used to use the A340s back in the day in Melbourne and Sydney (I've seen photographs of them at MEL for sure). And yes if UL could pick up traffic rights between Singapore and Australia, it would be a good advancement, particularly with UL joining OneWorld in the near future. UL and Qantas could potentially set up some type of codeshare deal, which could help boost passenger loads on the routes. With the retirement of the A340s next year, I would think that UL would use the A330-300s on that route if they were to resume flights to Australia.

Sri Lankan Airlines has several codeshares on Etihad's flight to major American cities, Washington DC, New York and Chicago. When you book on Etihad's website for a flight from Abu Dhabi to Colombo, Sri Lankan 207/208 is one of the options for a flight, which departs around the same time as EY266/267. I guess it's a good replacement of the missing codeshare with Emirates that UL used to have before the break in ownership.

Etihad operates only 1 direct daily flight between AUH and CMB that is A 320.

Qantas and EK have an exclusive partnership so no chance for a UL codeshare. As we've said before yield is pretty low between Australia and SL. And no chance UL would succeed between SIN and AUS. Way too much competition. QF, SQ and Scoot would massively undercut them!
