SriLankan Airlines receives prestigious Four Star rating by Airline Passenger Experience Association

SriLankan Airlines was recently honored with a prestigious Four Star Rating by the Airline Passenger Experience Association (APEX) in the first ever airline industry rating program based solely on feedback from passengers.

"We are delighted to receive this rating of excellence, which we consider extremely important since it was compiled using passenger feedback. We will continue our efforts to delight our customers and will aim to achieve Five Stars in the next edition of the rating," CEO of SriLankan Airlines, Captain Suren Ratwatte, said.

APEX is the world's only non-profit membership trade association dedicated to improving the entire airline passenger experience.

Siva Ramachandra, Chief Commercial Officer of SriLankan, said the rating is the culmination of continuous teamwork and innovation by every employee of the airline and demonstrates that SriLankan has the ability to compete with the finest airlines in the sky.

A total of 470 airlines worldwide were rated, with only 12% of airlines achieving five-star status and 14% reaching four-star status. Using a five-star scale, more than 500,000 flights were rated anonymously by passengers between 24th October 2016 and to 31st July 2017.

Passengers rated their overall flight experience and also provided ratings in seat comfort, cabin service, food and beverage, entertainment and Wi-Fi.

SriLankan Airlines was placed in the Major Regional Airline category, with the other categories being Global Airlines.

The awards were presented at a gala ceremony in Long Beach, California on 25th September during APEX EXPO, a conference attended by more than 4,000 airline industry professionals which showcases airline related technologies, products and services.

SriLankan recently won a host of accolades including 'World's Leading Airline Operating to the Indian Ocean Region' at the World Travel Awards; 'Best Full Service Airline in Central and South Asia' for two consecutive years at the Future Travel Experience Asia Awards; 'Most Innovative Marketing Airline in China' by Life Weekly magazine; 'Best Airline in South Asia' at the Top Travel Awards, also in China; and Best International Airline - Asia for two consecutive years at the Tamil Nadu Tourism Awards.

The airline has been rapidly modernizing its fleet with the addition of brand new wide body A330-300 and narrow body A320neo and A321neo aircraft. Passengers now enjoy a service with comfortable seats, state of the art entertainment systems, excellent in-flight cuisine, on board connectivity (Wi-Fi & GSM) and flight attendants famed for their warmth and caring.

SriLankan's global network covers 105 cities in 47 countries and as a member of the oneworld global airline alliance it also connects its passengers to oneworld's worldwide network of more than 1,000 destinations in 160 countries.

Just more propaganda to hide the truth:-

        Out of Ideas
        Out of Money
        Out of Time

The $86 Million they've just borrowed won't last very long - may keep airbus from suing them.

Tip:- Don't put your money in the Bank of Ceylon or the People's Bank and if you have money there withdraw it ASAP!

Sri Lanka doesn't have a way out - airbus will easily win in court.

More huge losses coming up - that's the only thing that's 100% certain!
Oh, so the lawyers did a great job, ensuring there is no exit clause !!!

          Good job !!!!!!!!!!

My guess is that this was done deliberately to increase the value of the deal and hence the amount of Commission paid out. After all that's all these deals are about.

4R-AND was spotted at XFW with Sri Lanka rego on the 30-Aug. But today its appeared in XFW with Test rego D-AZAB. I couldn't track its test flights on FR24 or Flightaware. Not sure why.

I think 4R-ANE is coming to CMB end of Nov if everything go as planned. With an arrival of 4R-ANE , UL is planning to increase 4 more weekly flights to both DXB & DOH.

4R-ALC back in revenue service since 16-Oct after completed its C Check but 4R-ALD is not flying since 14-Oct. Any reason? I am wondering if UL have enough aircraft to operate Daily service to MEL from 29-Oct? 4R-MRE & 4R-ALD are not in service.

When UL is going to paint 4R-MRD & MRE in UL livery? and any update on lease returns of UL fleet.

the investigations could lead to “significant penalties” for Airbus.

4R-AND had encountered engine issues, resulting in late delivery. Started and performed RTO tests today with new engines.

Hi, I'm new to the membership area but was a frequent visitor to the forum as a passive observer. I'm glad you have added me as a member and I'm very much thankful to the admin Banugopan.

I wish to know how many destinations currently served by SriLankan and what are they? It seems Wikipedia article is not up-to-date. And also wish to know what are the destinations covered with codeshare flights also. If you have details please do share. I searched everywhere but couldn't find a good source yet.

                              Thanks in advance.
