Malaysia Airlines to increase Colombo service from 7 to 10 weekly effective 27th October 2014. Any idea why Malaysia Airlines was reduced the Colombo service in Summer 2014 from 10 to 7 weekly.Malaysia plans to implement visa fee exemption for China, India, Pakistan, Bangladesh and Sri Lanka tourist (people.com, 12-Aug-2014). Malaysian Deputy Prime Minister Muhyiddin Yassin stated this move is mainly to resolve the impact of the two Malaysia Airlines incidents, with plans to implement in 3Q2014 or 2015.Comment

Could be more profitable to fly to European countries for the summer holiday period rather than to SL so they shift some of their flights for the summer. I would assume there's a greater demand for flights to Malaysia/SE Asia around this time (and then again around Xmas).Comment

But MAS operates B737-800 to SL, so shifting their SL flights to Europe doesn't make it technically possible.Comment
