More leg room is essential for these A32Series as they are operating overnight flights to Kuala Lumpur, Bangkok, Singapore, Mumbai, Muscat, Abu Dhabi and Dubai. These former Qatar A321s going to be leased for four years and they will be replaced by A321 NEOS in the future. 4R-ABR is going to replace 4R-ABJ. Do you know which airline is going to take over 4R-ABJ ?
Hi Banuthev, would you be able to tell us where you got the source for the A321NEOs? That's pretty exciting news!

the a321neo news were a part of the CAPA research on sri lankan airlines. the article was published around 3 to 4 mths ago as far as i cud remember.
the news abt a321neo also came in the airlines 5 yr marketing/biz plan which was once again published around 3 to 4 mths ago.

          Hydraulic failure on 4R-ALD

Colombo (Sri Lanka) - A plane airline of Sri Lanka SriLankan Airlines was forced to turn around and rest on the Colombo (Sri Lanka) due to hydraulic problems International Airport after an hour's flight . The plane, an Airbus 340-300, flight UL314, which was to make the connection between the Colombo Bandaranaike International Airport and Kuala Lumpur (Malaysia) International Airport with 296 passengers on board, departed to 8:20 PM local with 45 minutes behind the scheduled time, and was flying for about an hour when pilots were alerted to a problem with the hydraulics of the machine. They then decided to turn back to rest in Colombo. Aircraft rested without further incident, amid the emergency vehicles and there are no injuries. The passengers were deplaned and transferred to the terminal until the airline can carry them out. The company technicians will examine the device to determine the causes of the failure.

Thanks Serendib for the update. Yeah 4R-ALD was the aircraft which had the technical issue yesterday when it operate UL314. But the issue on this aircraft had been sorted out yesterday and it was operating UL217 to Doha and today is flying to Moscow as UL533.

Why do you think Melbourne route is important for SriLankan ? I thought SriLankan better strengthen their regional network as they are making losses in long-haul market.

That's why I would like to see a round flight combined with Munich. this may bring pax from Vienna , Prague , Budapest additionally to German tourists.
