It's likely that SriLankan will get the 235t version but some will be the 240t in 2015 deliveries. I think 235t can do the CMB-LHR-CMB route could be with load restriction so full pax load and bags but less cargo. But I doubt SriLankan will send A330-300 to LHR instead they will use A330-200. Even thesedays SriLankan mostly sends A330-200 to LHR. I think 235t is a better example for China, Saudi Arabia, Germany and Japan route.

Yeah in NZ we have JQ competing with NZ & QF market with cheaper flights... only disadvantage here is they are never on time... even JQ which flies to SIN also goes delayed. But in Sri Lanka as a developing country its a bit difficult as we struggle to keep up the market with our on career itself.Comment

yes i know that but dont worry this is not gonna happen i sri lanka . coz in sri lanka we are going to hv different management also we want to send our flight on time thatz gonna be our no 1 priority,,,Yeah in NZ we have JQ competing with NZ & QF market with cheaper flights... only disadvantage here is they are never on time... even JQ which flies to SIN also goes delayed. yey thats gonna be awesome Sameera! So where will be the A320s based?? Which Country will Manage CMB operations? i.e. SIN? It might be the closest location for us with JQ operationsComment
-
With the market all ready filled with Air Asia, Tiger, Mihin, Fly Dubai and varies Indian carriers.... what are the chances that JQ can compete profitably?
Hmm.. Personally I prefer not to fly JQ. Even on short haul its plagued with problems associated with the A320s being delayed all the time, but on short notice JQ is considarably cheaper than ANZ. As JQ is now established in Singapore, may be they trying to tap in to the budget market of the region which already have players such as Tiger, Air Asia, Mihin Lanka....etc? Will be interesting to seeComment

ha ha IN CMB sure but not in HRI
@isuru, you stay and see whatz gonna happen ...
ya we are planing to start operation with 3 A-320. Routes ll be SIN, BKK, MEL, DXB, KUL. this ll be 4R registration and base in sri lanka and IATA ll give us Air line code we are not operating as JQ and air line goes as Jet Star Sri Lanka...
we are considering all possible routes we can fly and also we are planing to get A-350 for our fleet for Long-haul operation but we are not gonna operate to India and Male coz this routes are not gonna make profits itz full with few airlines.Comment

Thanks for the update Sameera! Much appreciated! I did wan't to ask you a few things though (if you are able to answer):
Are you guys actually flying direct to MEL given that you will only have A320s?
Isnt Jetstar Long Haul going to exclusively operate 787s?Comment

we are gonna operate to MEL via SIN. And Jetstar Sri Lanka is a join venture with leading sri lankan company and jetstar group so we have different management Jetstar Australia going to get B-787 for Long Haul operation but our plan (Jetstar Sri Lanka) is to buy A-350 XWB for Long Haul operation.Comment
