SriLankan & Cinnomonair are together should get some Bombardier Dash 8 Q400 for Jaffna, Batticaloa and Trimcomalee service. Sri Lanka does need one better domestic airline instead of four. Another airline is not required at this stage.

I would like to know your thoughts ?
It may be rebranding the Helitours.

        Many Thanks for update !!

Basically Previous Sri Lanka Government ordered two A320neo for Mihin Lanka and four A321neo for SriLankan Airlines. Mihin Lanka doesn't exist anymore and SriLankan Airlines had take over the Mihin Lanka's destinations, fleet and some of the staff.

Hi Haleef - Any chance those two A320neo will be registered under SriLankan Airlines as 4R-ABS, 4R-ABT ... ?

Good to see Gulf Air back in Colombo ! But Is Gulf Air trying to advantage of Colombo route due to cancellation of most of the SriLankan Airlines in Jan - Apr 2017, due to Colombo run way maintenance?

                            Hi Skyliner, Digitalairliners & XFW-Spotter,

The parts of MSN7486 (1st A320neo for UL) have had appeared in Hamburg very recently. Do you have more info of types of those parts? Any sign of tail section?

1st A320-251neo (MSN7486) is likely to be registered as 4R-ANA in Sri Lanka. Very surprised why SL CAA didn't give the registration as 4R-ABS for 1st A320neo. SriLankan Airlines used to register their A320 family aircraft as 4R-AB*

More conditions set, besides huge termination fee of US$ 98 m; Govt. consults AG

Dutch firm ups stakes on Airbus A 350 deal

More conditions set, besides huge termination fee of US$ 98 m; Govt. consults AG

The controversial payment of US$ 98 million or more than Rs. 14.5 billion to a Dutch firm for the cancellation of the A 350 aircraft ordered by SriLankan Airlines has run into snags. The Dutch firm Aerocap, which had said it had agreed on the low figure of US$ 98 million, is now urging the Government to fulfil further conditions.

One is the insistence that SriLankan Airlines should obtain a second aircraft on lease from the company. In addition, it has said, an aircraft now operated by SriLankan and now under lease, should have its period extended. The matter figured at a meeting of the Cabinet Committee on Economic Management (CCEM) chaired by Prime Minister Ranil Wickremesinghe.

The Committee directed SriLankan Airlines, which received the Aerocap letter, to seek the advice of the Attorney General. More importantly, SriLankan Airlines has also been told to verify with the International Monetary Fund (IMF) whether the payment of termination fee is in line with the conditions set out with the IMF. In addition, the Finance Minister has also been instructed to inform the Aerocap representatives to submit a written statement with the conditions.

Some industry sources say it would have been better for SriLankan Airlines to have operated the A 350 aircraft on the Australian route instead of paying a colossal US$ 98 million.
