SriLankan Airlines COO, Mr. Siva Ramachandran was giving the interview to the media this time. CEO Mr.Suren Ratwette or Chairman Mr.Ajith Dias usually do these interviews to the media. This is a first time COO is coming to the media interview. COO is also said SriLankan have 80% average passenger load on Muscat flights and they are looking at starting a new destination in Salalah in the future.

What's your opinion about SriLankan COO Mr. Siva Ramachandran? Is he suitable for the role?
Could Salalah make profit for UL?

Operating to Salalah is a pretty stupid idea just like Gan
They should look to increase capacity to Muscat preferably to a daily flight
I'm at CMB at the moment waiting for my flight to MCT will update on the load factor and the feasibility operating a daily connection

The number I have is 45 and it's Captain and FO. I commented on this previously.

Translation:- We can't find any serious candidates and we have no idea what to do now.

As I stated previously - another EPIC FAIL.

Here's an idea Ravi K - close it down asap.

Sri Lanka may consider other options for Sri Lankan Airlines

Sri Lanka may consider other transparent options to find a partner for state-run SriLankan Airlines if the government decides that proposals made so far can be bettered, Finance Minister Ravi Karunanayake said.

"We are currently in talks. I think we may have to look at this more broadly,"

"We are looking at the proposals made by several companies," Finance Minister Ravi Karunanayake told reporters.

" If we think we can get proposals that are not good enough and better options are possible, we may broaden the process. It will be through a transparent process."

Sri Lanka called expressions of interest to find a partner for SriLankan Airlines before the end of 2016, but no decision has been announced so far.

The government has said it was willing to take off most of the legacy debt of the airlines acquired to finance losses made after ex-President Mahinda Rajapasksa terminated a management contract with Emirates.

It is getting weirder by the minute

A bidder for Sri Lanka's loss-making national airline on Thursday promised to appease Lord Murugan and conduct daily rituals if they are given a controlling stake in the airline and the Mattala airport.

                                .......
                                ......
                                ...
He said he is in talks with Malaysia airlines to buy six A380 double decker aircraft to run Peace Air parallel to Sri Lankan. However, Peace Air does not posses a licence to operate air services, but Wethasinghe said it would be a formality before he got it

What next? Voodoo and witchcraft to make the debt disappear? Someone needs to admit these people to Angoda very soon.
