On top of all how is it gonna be useful since most common type of narrow body aircraft at this time are the Boeing 737NG and Airbus A320 which even their days are numbered due to latest successor of each counter part.
Can someone explain the most practical and useful purpose this aircraft(737-200) could serve.

I think the B737-200 needs more maintanance when its have high number of flying cycles. I guess they can continue flying indefinitely with more costly maintenance. Please correct me if i am wrong.

Still plenty 737-200 flying in Canada. A lot of them have a gravel kit installed that allows them to operate on gravel/ice runways in the Arctic. No gravel kit exists for the later models.

Plans by Maldivian (Q2, Malé) to launch the first scheduled international passenger flights from Sri Lanka's Colombo Ratmalana airport for fifty years have been delayed, reports Lanka Information. Maldivian Airlines planned to run a Malé – Ratmalana service 3x weekly using Dash 8-300 turboprop equipment starting April 9, 2017. However, Sri Lankan Customs staff have yet to be deployed to the airport and the flights have not commenced. Ratmalana, located 15 kilometres south of Colombo, has primarily served as a domestic and training airport since the mid-1960s, although prior to that it was Sri Lanka's only international facility. In March this year, Sri Lankan and Maldivian authorities agreed to sign an MoU to see the airport return to scheduled international operations. It was thought that the route would appeal primarily to the tourist niche given the airfield's closer proximity to downtown Colombo than Colombo International Airport. The flights do not currently appear on Maldivian's website.

Narendra Modi announces direct Colombo-Varanasi flight

Taking part in the 14th International Vesak Day celebrations, Prime Minister Narendra Modi also announced a direct flight between Colombo and Varanasi. PM Modi is an elected MP from Varanasi, which is about 250km from the Buddhist pilgrimage centre of Bodhgaya.

“From August 2017, Air India will operate direct flights between Colombo and Varanasi. This will ease travel of brothers and sisters from Sri Lanka to visit Varanasi, the land of Kashi Vishwanath,” Narendra Modi announced.

Is AI going to fly the seasonal flight on VNS-CMB?
Btw UL already have direct flights to VNS. Does that mean this is a profitable route for the airlines?

Hello Capt Eric Janson and Capt Axel Wala,

I've noticed on Flightradar24-website that CS-TFZ is currently doing engine run-ups on the spot near RWY25L at Brussels Airport. Does that mean seat reconfiguration already been completed for this aircraft? Any update when is the next acceptance flight?

All I know is that the aircraft is in Brussels - still registered as CS-TFZ.

Not sure what is going on.

Apart from media statements, is there any other way to keep up to date with developments and plans, regarding the future (or lack thereof) of UL?

Also - it looks like ABL will soon be leaving while ALS will be arriving and ALA-ALC will be staying for a bit... therefore, during the early part of 2018, the UL fleet would likely consist of 7 333s, 7 332s, 7 321s and 7 320s (and, that will be an interesting coincidence!).
