UIA Ukraine Airlines is going to increase the frequency of KBP-CMB flights from 2 to 3 weekly effective 22-July-2018.

Very sad Austrian Airlines has announced they will discontinue the VIE-CMB flights from end of Oct 2018

Good to see some SriLankan technicians based temporarily in Qatar on Airbus 350 training, as for the LATAM/Qatar 350 operation to CMB - our technicians need a bit more experience and training it seems. As I heard some of them are coming to Colombo on ALK218 tomorrow, and the next batch is on their way to Qatar at the moment.

Seems like Air Asia SriLanka as well as Peace Air have been nothing but rumors!
Does anyone have any updates regarding either of the two?

A Kolkata-bound Sri Lankan aircraft made an emergency landing at the Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose International Airport here on Wednesday due to a suspected tyre burst, airport sources said.

All passengers and members of the crew are safe.

The Sri Lankan Airline Flight number UL-187, coming from Colombo, landed safely at 11.24 a.m.

The plane taxied on its own before coming to a stop.

Earlier, full emergency had been declared at the airport, at 11.18 a.m., for the flight after the pilot contacted the Air Traffic Control.

The emrergency was withdrawn at 11.24 a.m., the sources said.

After inspection, a decap was observed in the inner rear wheel of the starboard side of the aircraft.

SriLankan Airlines is going to increase the frequency of Hong Kong flights from 3 to 5 weekly : https://airsrilanka.wixsite.com/0004

Good to see SriLankan is now flying only A320neos to HKG.

Looks like this is the money to pay off the outstanding fuel bill.

Private banks (correctly) must have refused to lend any money to UL.

As previously stated this is just another loss for the Sri Lankan taxpayers to absorb.

Tip:- Get your money out of the People's Bank and the Bank of Ceylon. These banks will become insolvent.

For Journalists:- Explain to the naive people of Sri Lanka what "letters of comfort" really means!

                          @Aaqib

Print media is really a thing of the past - everything these days is online.

Here's an example of an online Aviation magazine from The Netherlands that I read (sorry - there's no English version):-

NL Vliegvelden Nieuwe airline landt op vliegveld Rotterdam Opmerkelijk Passagiers hele nacht vast in vliegtuig: ‘We mochten het toestel niet verlaten’

Layout is very user friendly and easy to navigate. You can easily select the areas you want to read about. Integrated with YouTube and other social media.

This is the way to do things.

Just my opinion for what it's worth.

                            Thanks for your opinion.

I do agree that print media is a thing of the past. However, I do feel that there is immense potential in the Sri Lankan Market which is pretty much untouched in terms of aviation content and news.

The magazines that I usually purchase are usually sell-out's (Airliner World etc) so im just trying my luck

Anyhow My concept is different though, as this would be not only a value addition for Air Sri Lanka but something what i'd like to call my contribution to Sri Lankan aviation

Like the layout of the magazine but there's a definite language barrier
