      Mihin Lanka’s direct flight to Madurai in Sept

      Madurai, July 3: Mihin Lanka Airlines will be commencing its flight service in the Madurai-Colombo sector in the first week of September.

      Mr Jegatheesan, President, Tamil Nadu Chamber of Commerce and Industry, and Mr S. Rethinavelu, senior President of the chamber, in a statement said that while the operation is subject to availability of aircraft, the same will not be delayed in any case, not later than November this year. The service will be thrice a week — Monday, Wednesday and Friday. The flight will depart from Colombo at 2. 20 p.m. and reach Madurai at 3.20 p.m. and in the return trip will depart from Madurai at 4.15 p.m. and reach Colombo at 5.15 p.m. according to the tentative flight schedule.

      A trade delegation from the Tamil Nadu Chamber of Commerce and Industry will fly to Colombo from Madurai in the inaugural flight of Mihin Lanka Airlines to explore the possibility expanding bi-lateral trade between the two countries and have interactions with representatives of trade and industrial bodies in Sri Lanka, they added.

        Mihin Lanka to launch Madurai - Sri Lanka's LCC airline, Mihin Lanka will become a first international airline to fly Madurai when they launch the direct flight to Madurai effective 29 October 2012. Mihin Lanka's Madurai Flight Schedule has now been loaded on Amadeus System and it's yet to be loaded in the airline's inventory system.

                  a very nice surprise for everyone! Flight "ALK1305" departed from SriLanka and the final destination was Cuba, so they did a pit stop at Portugal!

                      madurai is in tamilnadu and in south side center. madurai is famous for tourist and temple city (arround important sightseeing cities).very sort timing from colombo in 55 minutes to madurai .

                            Could be, but Colombo is a hub for Transiting, South TN has a big labor population in Middle east, Expats in Singapore, Skilled labors in Malaysia, and flyers to Maldives, Penang, etc. besides it is a big tourism hub.

                              Mihin Lanka has applied to DGCA to start a flights to Madurai. It does not looks like Mihin Lanka's Trichy flights will be affected for starting Madurai flights.

                              @ SSCMK - Is there any Sri Lankan community in Madurai ?

                                Sri Lankan Airlines eyes expansion in Pakistan

                                Sri Lankan Airlines on Friday vowed to expand its presence in the country with promises of frequent flights from Islamabad and Lahore in the near future.
