NeatStuff; is it possible they will do a real time vote, and based on the majority, land at either one of the airports ??

    Just thinking aloud

And let UL Tank ? mmmm .. not a good idea .. a better idea would be to let it run privatised, a-la PR !! or MAI !!!

I didn't think they would be this insane, but they actually are, and are really going to do this. Oh dear lord.

So much so for my belief they had at least a few nuts screwed properly in their heads.
Do you really think so? :-)

There is no way they can divert flights completely to Mattala, that would be suicide. If they do, then no one at UL has a brain even comparable to a gold fish.
Additional pit stop @ HTT will cost the airline on additional fuel burn which will result in increase in operational cost to the airline. (fuel is just a part of the cost...ground handling etc..)

When the financial year ends; then the spin-doctors and yes-men will say fuel cost are high and that the reason they made a loss.

Yes Thanks. It's an amazing news also for the Maldives that KE starts schedule flights to MLE via CMB. Does KE has local rights on CMB-MLE-CMB ? If not KE would have route this flight as ICN-CMB-MLE-ICN.

I heard that they are operating only HTT-Gulf flights.

as for the aviation and tourism industry this is great news but will it be a positive factor for the national airline?
