I assume China frequency reductions to allow more flights to LHR for peak pax sales in Winter 2012.. or for the shortage of aircraft due to maintanance reasons. @Sakith - Do you know anything about this ?

Yes UL505 must be operating to cater Tourists who want to escape from Northern Winter but this flight may stop operating after BA re-instate CMB in March 2013. Otherwise UL is no-longer rely on LHR for North American connection which can be done via CDG and FRA easily.

UL de-linked the KUL-SIN route in early part of 2012, since then UL is flying double daily terminator flights to KUL and SIN. Recently UL upgraded four out of 14 KUL flights with A332/A343 replacing A320 for the increased pax-demand. But UL still flying to SIN with A320 equipment.

The only charter flights operating to CMB are Finnair one weekly with an A330 operated by HiFly and Enter Air one weekly with a B738 via Muscat. As I know. All other european charter flights has terminated CMB-services Last winter (Wi11/12) Novair (2 weekly), Edelweiss (2 weekly) and Condor (2 weekly) had services to CMB.

Any idea what UL is looking at? Theyre taking a while to make a decision. In which time all the delivery slots will be taken for a while

They are taking way too long to make the decision, just like any other crony saddled government establishment.

It is not rocket science. They only have the following options:

                            A330-300
                            B777-200ER
                            B777-300ER

And if you are thinking medium term, it really is a race betwee A330-300 and B777-300ER.

Of course their incredible incompetancy might produce some surprising results though.
