Edelweiss Air in Northern winter 2025/26 season plans to adjust service to The Maldives and Sri Lanka. From 26OCT25, the airline will no longer operates Zurich – Colombo – Male – Zurich triangle routing.

Yes, have flown it 10-12 times since Covid. Business class almost always only has positioning flight crew and BA Tier Points runners as AUH-CMB-CGK was - until a month or so ago - the cheapest way to earn BA Tier Points (560TPs for $800 rtn in Business). Economy always seemed busy, but margins are slim there and eventually UL accountants must have realised that they weren’t making much of a profit on the pointy end. Cargo could be a revenue winner?

Loved the UL service and food, didn’t mind the old A320s either, seats more comfy than the neos! And the UL deputy station manager at AUH was lovely, always happy to help the constant stream of mad people doing ‘back to backs’ at AUH (i.e. getting off UL207 and straight back on UL208). One guy I met was shuttling AUH-CMB-CGK and back 8 times in a month!

UL reservation are showing UL may return back to AUH from 29-Jan-2025. I really doubt UL will make profit out of AUH route after BA terminate AUH route from Summer 2025.

I flew on UL 207 in May this year. Flight was only about 40% full. UL cannot compete this route with EY

with EY as a 'premium' carrier and 3L as a LCC, flying this route, I'd like to see how UL fits in this frame.

I don't think UL had(at least) a break-even in the route
how about the other carriers serving this route?

Skyup is operating HRI between 21-Dec-24 to 31-Mar-25;

Flyone is operating HRI between 04-Jan-25 to 02-Apr-25;

Redwings is operating HRI between 28-Oct-24 to 26-Mar-25;

Hi All, Merry Christmas to all !!

Got an update on 4R-ALT,
Aircraft is having a Cabin refurbishment at the lessor's faciltiy in Spain. As per the info got from credible source, some Materials and equipment were sent to the location for the refurbishment and 4R-ALT will arrive with new cabin (Previously it had the Thai Cabin but it was removed by the lessor and refitted with a All Y cabin for someother customer but UL could reserve the plane) by 3rd week of January as per the current update!

Could be MSN1060 was meant to go to AirAsia before it reserve for UL? Any chance the delay in delivery to UL due to unavailability of the materials for refurbishment?

Hi Both,
n863gt Could not get much info on the aircraft MSN1060 .

Yes, We can guess as aircraft's Thai cabins were removed and configured with All Y Economy cabin, supposed to join with an LCC who operates A333s already. Materials and equipment were sent to the lessor to carryout the refurbishments. now, I think, all workings are ongoing without disruptions! As per That employee's words "Probably by January 15th, if no any disruptions!"
