do you know why UL is axing the CMB-AUH route?

I remember UL207/8 on CMB-AUH-CMB was terminated between Dec24 and Apr25. The service was resumed in Apr25 but unfortunately going to be terminated again from Sep25. Notsure the reason for termination but I see UL is going to increase CMB-BKK flights from 14 weekly to 18 weekly. Additional 4 weekly CMB-BKK flights are going to depart CMB around the same time of the terminating UL207 departure time. I wonder UL207/8 being terminated to boost the CMB-BKK frequency?Comment

CMB-AUH load may be not that great for UL. EY has 4 daily flights as well.

Sad to see that UL is terminating direct CMB-FRA and CDG-CMB flights and starting back triangular flight insteda for CMB-CDG-FRA-CMB😞 2Comment

Very sad.. I believe that AUH and MLE were once the best performing routes for UL. How things change.
Ideal for UL to just codeshare on EY 4x daily flights and let them bring the low yeild connecting traffic. Same should be for DOH also where QR is at times 5x daily and UL should get out of DOH and let QR deal with low yeilds and low yeild traffic. Now we have 2x aircraft we can re deploy on other profitable routes within the UL network. May be more India flights where we have more rights than the Gulf carriers.
CMB-CDG-FRA-CMB is better than No flights to CDG FRA at all.Comment

I assume DOH route is still doing ok for UL

CDG and FRA direct flights will resume for Nothern winter season again by UL and also weekend extra LHR flightsComment

UL is increasing CMB-LHR fights from 7 weekly to 9 weekly effect 26-Oct and nonstop flights to CDG and FRA will resume on the 05-Dec. UL is planning to change flight number for CMB-FRA from UL553/4 to UL557/8 from 05-Dec. I wonder what is the reason for the change in FRA flight number.
Any reason why UL still not flying on CMB-MCT route ? Only airline fly this route Salam Air is increasing MCT-CMB flights from 5 to 6 weekly effect end of Oct25.Comment

UL used 557/558 flight numbers several years back for Saturday day time departure flight to Frankfurt

Can see 4 UL aircraft are grounded incl ANE. AUH termination probably due to shortage of aircraft? just to note UL increasing CMB-BKK flights from 14 weekly to 18 weekly only from 15-Dec.

Possibly for maintenance?

Days of operation for CMB-FRA not changed. Only flight number changed. UL557 will be departing from CMB on Wed, Fri, Su effec 05-Dec-25. Notsure which made flight number to be changed.
CMB-FRA - 00:40 - 07:10 - UL557 - A333 - WE.FR.SU
FRA-CMB - 15:15 - 05:40+1 - UL558 - A333 - WE.FR.SUComment

ALR is back in service flying UL 101Comment

I'm unhappy about the inconsistency of UL's use of flight numbers. 551/2 was the historically used number for CDG/FRA service. Now they use 501 which should be a LHR flight number. It's here nor there.Comment

KUWAIT - Kuwait Airways announced that it will resume commercial flights to Colombo, the capital of Sri Lanka, starting October 26. The national carrier will operate four weekly flights on Sundays, Wednesdays, Thursdays and Fridays. In a press statement, the airline said Colombo remains an important tourist destination for its passengers, adding that the decision to relaunch flights reflects the company’s commitment to meeting customer demand and offering a wide range of global travel options. Kuwait Airways reaffirmed its keenness to expand its network by introducing destinations that cater to the diverse needs of travelers, providing them with more choices and enhanced connectivity. Established in 1953 under the name Kuwait National Airways Limited, the company began operations in March 1954. The Kuwaiti government acquired full ownership of the airline in 1962, making it the country’s national carrier.
