SriLankan makes Moscow-Colombo maiden voyage. The first direct flight from Moscow to Sri Lanka arrived in the country at 5.55 a.m. yesterday. On board the inaugural flight were Russian tour operators, stake holders of Russian tourism and a media group. http://print.dailymirror.lk/business...cal/56590.html

Meridiana Fly Management has been changed and now it is under AIR ITALY group.they will reopen the route in winter.....Ukraine International have stopped CMB and Meridianafly will also leave from 13 September reports airlineroute.net. hopefully this will be compensated by more airlines flying in.
As for Korean Air they served CMB in the past as well 70s or 80s maybe even Cargo flights in the 90s.Comment

it's gud to hear, i saw my self taking off Eurofly last flight from CMB, but some airlines do operate to CMB even though they have a few passengers, especially China Eastern Airlines..Comment

Yaa.meridiana i dont think they had less pax,cz 31st aug flight was also ovrbookd.hope the new mngmnt air italy will start ops frm winter season!!!!Comment

No idea at this stage. I think they should lease at least another two aircraft and take their expansion to the next step. Mihin is very small for a LCC.
Any pics of the new cabins?
Awesome pics Sizov. Thanks!Comment

Has Helitours taken delivery of MA-60s http://news.ccaonline.cn/Article/201...287197_1.shtml ?The opinions above are solely my own and do not reflect those of my employer or clientsComment

Is South African Airways (SAA) ready to launch direct flights to Colombo?
Comment

@ Kflyer - No idea whether MA-60s have been delivered in Sri Lanka. According to Daily Mirror (dated Feb 2011), Helitours will be taking the delivery of two MA-60s this year.
@ Max - I think UL should resume the CMB-DUR-JNB-CMB triangular-route. Not sure if SA is interested in CMB.
4R-ABH (MSN 2914) is not in service for UL since last two weeks. Last flight operated on 8th Sep 2011 as UL1171 to BLR. I heard rumour saying that 4R-ABH has been returned to the lessor. Please confirm if its true.Comment

Some time back it was mentioned that SA may quit BOM which will leave HKG as their only Asian route, I think this will go too in favour of code share like most of their other ex-Asia/Middle East routes.Comment

Banuthev, ABH left UL and and now it flying for TransAsia Airways : http://oi51.tinypic.com/11bllw3.jpg4R-ABH (MSN 2914) is not in service for UL since last two weeks. Hey guys some guy has added the B777-300ER to Srilankan Airlines Wikipedia page (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/SriLankan_Airlines). It says that Srilankan Airlines will take 6 of them.
Is it true or is it a fake?Comment

Quite unlikely. Wikipedia is hardly credible when it comes to things like this. I can always edit it to tell that UL will take delivery of 6 A380s. Plus, Boeing's official O&D shows no new 777 orders this week, although this could always be announced later. Never say never.Hey guys some guy has added the B777-300ER to Srilankan Airlines Wikipedia page (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/SriLankan_Airlines). It says that Srilankan Airlines will take 6 of them.
