            notice a difference of this a/c with others in the fleet??? Srilankan.aero has been replaced by srilankan.com. i wonder why only this a/c.. .com and .aero points to the same site

                    Joking apart, what really matters is the operating cost - where the 77W has the edge.

                            Yes, they are the sweetest in a 'kid in the candy store' kind of way.

                            While I agree that 77W has a clear edge in operating costs the economies of scale will not apply if UL buys just a handful of frames, which is what they are looking for at the moment. In such a scenarion the acquisition cost and the platform introduction costs will easily evaporate the operations cost advantage and reduce the economic benefit and the viability of the whole exercise.

                            We all like to see the 77W in UL livery, but this is an adult's discussion on what is most appropriate for the economically and practically.

                                Thai AirAsia has dropped the plan to flying BKK-CMB. However Thai Airways is adding capacity on CMB by replacing B777-200 with B777-300.

                                On the 11th and 12th May 2012, SriLankan Airlines is operating temporary extra flights on CMB-BKK-CMB route.

                                12:00 - 17:00 - CMB-BKK - UL1422 - A340 - Fri.Sat
                                18:00 - 19:55 - BKK-CMB - UL1423 - A340 - Fri.Sat

                                            You seem to have no idea of what I am talking about. I am not talking about how aricraft deals are structured, I am talking about the economic viability of introducing 77W in to UL fleet and the fact that they are better off with A333 instead.

                                                Nice to see you here ! RJ brought A330s to CMB only in Aug-Sep 2011. But they fly on A313s in summer and A342s in Winter.
