Anyways it's really great to see the A340's being replaced... But why didn't Sri Lankan airlines consider B787's? Isn't that a great efficient plane?
Not too sure either to be honest. Sri Lankan has instead ordered the A350, which they say will also be a replacement for the A330-200s after they have been retired. I would think that the 787s would be a much quicker and more efficient way to make up for the lack of fuel efficiency. UL is now going to have to wait longer for the arrival of newer fuel efficient aircraft. Perhaps they want to stick to a strictly Airbus fleet?

Sorry that was badly worded on my part. UL needed aircraft from the end of next year to replace its A343s. Airbus offered them A333s. Whereas Boeing didnt have a product (787 slots are probably only available in a couple of years). UL cant wait a couple of years so they went with Airbus. Plus UL already operates Airbus aircraft so training etc would be cheaper (correct me if Im wrong on this!).

Does any one know what happened to this Fokker F27 500 ? this is a recent photo taken (which is below) Note that its names and markings on the bottom and on the tail are all erased (But the Reg is still there ??)! Will it be flying again ?

The former Expo Air-now-Fits Aviation is looking at selling its current fleet and leasing or buying new B737 planes in a market where revenue is likely to be flat this year, the company said.

Currently, the company has four cargo aircraft, one Douglas DC8, Elusion 18, two Fokker 27, and a Cessna to accommodate passenger traffic.

                    must be a nice Elusion

BTW, the DC 8s and IL 18s being permitted for ops is not going very well with some aviation regulator .. time will tell what this can end up as ..

F-27 (4R-EXH) is for passenger transportation. Infact they are trying to sell one passenger aircraft and three cargo aircraft to purchase/lease two B737Fs.

These days DC8 (4R-EXJ) must be operating out of DXB and I have seen only their IL18 and AN12 parked in CMB.

The only 2 747s we owned were leased from QF and were returned back to if I am not mistaken. Not sure what this guys is talking about??
