I'm really sorry to hear that EXQ has to leave the FitsAir fleet! It's a real disappointment how the global economy has impacted the aviation industry. I see FitsAir has terminated its LHE and KUL flights due to the current situation. I hope everything gets better, and that FitsAir increases its current fleet and expands its network.

Greetings for the day!

4R-EXQ , MSN : 3547 , A320-232 is leaving Fits Air (8D/EXV) on 16th July 2026 as Non-Revenue Delivery Ferry Flight as 8D707 CMB-SSH-LDE and will be at Tarmac AeroSave, LDE for long/Short term storage.
Joined with 8D/EXV in 2021 and flew for 5 years including ACMI services and 8D Revenue service.

According to this article by Aviation Voice and Daily FT,Tourism Deputy Minister Prof. Ruwan Ranasingh said that more foreign carriers are preparing to operate flights to Sri Lanka.

Supernova airlines is a cargo charter airline that is located in Ukraine that operates a single Boeing 737-800F, registered as UR-NPA. I heard that WeAir will be entering Sri lanka's cargo space soon using a foreign air certificate from Ukraine, could this possibly be the aircraft that will be leased to WeAir? or is this a seperate entry entirely? Please correct me if I am wrong!

Also, it is suprising to see S7 airlines considering operations as well, they have A320/A321 aircraft, all their A321Neos are grounded, which leaves for their A321s and A320s and A320NEOS being only operational. Any more info on this?

Is it true based on that this SWISS will be starting flights to SL? or is it Edeilweiss? for CIS carriers, Aeroflot, Uzbekistan Airlines, Air Astana and Azerbaijan airlines come to mind, and "Airlines from Poland", probably refer to either Enter Air or Smartwings, sadly no update on LOT for this year.

What's happening?

The Ministry said that the meeting also focused on enhancing tourism cooperation. More than 11,000 Kazakh tourists visited Sri Lanka last year, and both sides discussed the possibility of increasing tourist arrivals by extending Air Astana's seasonal services into year-round operations. At present, the airline operates flights to Sri Lanka only during the peak tourist season from December to April.

AOM actually served the Colombo route in the past, until they ceased operations in 2001. Air France also flew to Colombo a few years back. The increase in frequency shows that French bee indeed has good demand on the Colombo route. Who is the GSA in Sri Lanka for French bee?

Yes, French bee has updated its schedule to include a 3rd weekly rotation to Colombo for the first quarter of 2027.

Has the ORY–CMB route been served in the past? Perhaps by AOM Airlines?

ABO is grounded for maintenance.
ANE had a tech issue at MLE, returned to CMB that same night (delayed) but FR24 is not showing.

That’s a really helpful suggestion, thank you! I’ve given it some thought, and I think I’d prefer to keep our threads consolidated for a little longer so we don't spread the conversation too thin. I'd love to circle back to this later, though—please do keep the ideas coming, as it really helps!
