Fits Air 8D/EXV will not acquire 4th aircraft, instead they will return back the 3rd aircraft (Probably 4R-EXQ, Aircraft is AOG UFN) and will proceed with 2 aircraft operations as of now for Winter 26/27.

Backed by Luxembourg based IOTC Investments and led by Sri Lankan born Group CEO Thinesh Ganeshakumaran, WEAIR is positioned as a next-generation cargo airline designed to address growing demand across key trade corridors.Looks like this is going to be a cargo airline that will be operating out of Colombo from May 2026, this looks promising, will hopefully help capture some market share from Afcom Cargo and other cargo carriers in the region. Will be operating a boeing 737-800 freighter, which will be the first Boeing aircraft operated by a Sri Lankan Airline in a while. I hope this takes off.WEAIR plans to establish a regional network connecting Colombo with major destinations across South Asia, the Middle East, and Southeast Asia, leveraging the island’s strategic geographic location at the crossroads of global trade routes. The airline will begin operations with a Boeing 737-800 freighter and has outlined a phased fleet expansion strategy. A second aircraft is expected to be inducted by December 2026, followed by additional aircraft in 2027 and 2028. When day-to-day business operations seem to require cabinet approval, its not surprising that the airline appears to be incapable of sourcing new aircraft.

Thank you Banuthev for posting the flight information for April - this is always interesting to read. Surprised to see that UL is reducing LHR flights from 9 to 7 - I would have thought that currently UL's LHR flights are very lucrative, given that many people want to avoid the middle east and take a direct flight. I assume the flights being reduced are the weekend flights that arrived in London in the morning - which were very convenient for onward connections. Hope they resume soon.Leave a comment:
